Dixon.Brosnan provide a range of ecological services with particular emphasis on the private and local authority sectors. Projects include ecological surveys for roads, housing developments, gas pipelines and quarries. Services offered include the following:
- Ecological sections for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA/EIS)
- Compliance with National Roads Authority (NRA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) guidelines.
- Habitat surveys conducted according to Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC) Phase 1 guidlines.
- Habitat classification to level 3 of the scheme outlined in A Guide to Habitats in Ireland (Heritage Council, 2000)
- Specialist Bat Surveys
- Specialist Tree Surveys incorporating information on species, size, health and safety aspects. This information can be combined with ecological information to provide a comprehensive report on trees within a site.
- Aquatic surveys including electrofishing, macroinvertebrate surveys (measurement of Q values) and classification of aquatic habitats
- Bird counts
- Specialist butterfly and moth surveys
- Mammal surveys including otter and badger. Experience with removal of badger populations via live-trapping.
- Marine surveys including dredging and dive surveys.
